RAINER KÜSCHALL
Rainer Küschall, the founder of Küschall, is quite an amazing person. In 1963, a swimming accident at the age of 16 left him with tetraplegia. Only 15 years later, Küschall Switzerland was established with Rainer at the helm. From 1978 until 1984 Rainer focused primarily on Sports and custom chairs. Soon to follow in 1985 was the Competition, Küschall's first rigid vehicle. As a result of this type of forward thinking and creative design techniques, the very next year the Museum of Modern Arts, in New York, awarded Rainer the prestigious "Designers Award" for his design of the Competition. In 1992, Rainer developed and launched the first innovative folding” vehicle called the Compact. Innovative in that it was lightweight and had swing away removable footrest hangers.
Rainer has always strived to achieve his main ambition: To be able to express his identity and reach freedom through independence in mobility. His 21 Olympic medals symbolize his determination and it is this determination that drove him to create his own mobility vehicles both for everyday use and for sports. His creations, Küschall, represent the benchmark in today's world of mobility in terms of superior technology and cutting edge design.
Today, every manufacturer strives to match Küschall's ability to combine performance with adjustability and keep the outcome ultra-light. Rainer and the Küschall team still manage to reinvent the "innovative wheel" when it comes to finding ways of increasing the quality of life for drivers around the world.
KÜSCHALL IN NORTH AMERICA
Many of you remember Küschall from a few years back. A lot of you still own and drive one. Today's Küschall is significantly different. Known as the European market leader in ultra-lightweight "Personal Mobility Vehicles", Küschall's current design and manufacturing facility is located in Basil Switzerland. From there, Küschall vehicles are imported directly to our "Küschall Mobility Center" partners or KMC's. KMC's are our experts in the field. Each KMC location incorporates Küschall product experts. These are rehab product experts that you can depend on for professional assistance in selection and service. Utilize our Küschall Mobility Center locater to find the KMC nearest you.
If you are currently driving a Küschall vehicle purchased prior to July 2004, the company that manufactured those products no longer exists. That company is in no way affilliated with today's Küschall and unfortunately parts for those products are no longer available. |
